have failed us, our families and friends. Let’s prove our generation’s
political power by voting for change. Building a solid
bloc of voters is a real way we can steer America in a new direction.
Since 1998
OCYD has taken action in the community for local, statewide, and
national
campaigns to build a bloc of young voters for the Democratic
Party. There are now over ten
Young Democrats chapters throughout Orange County. The Orange
County Young Democrats focus on engaging our peers, in order to get
other young people to vote for Democrats. During the 2006
campaign our Alliance Field Program focused on getting the youth vote
to turn out in the 34th Senate District, the most competitive race for
the state legislature that year. With 15 employees and
hundreds of hours in volunteer shifts, we turned out 1500 - 1700 young
voters who were off the radar to vote in a race where the Democrat won
by less than 1400 votes proving that Young Democrats are the
Margin of Victory.
Our
generation’s votes will swing elections for Democrats and steer America
in a new direction. Republicans have failed us too many times,
let’s show them what’s up by
voting for change.
