SANTA ANA, CA – The
Orange County Young Democrats’ former Chair, Tim Steed, has been named
the best politician by the OC Weekly.
Tim Steed was honored by the
OC weekly in their annual Best of OC issue. Steed was selected as
best politician in Orange County by the OC Weekly’s editorial
board. Steed was chosen over several elected officials, staffers,
and other prominent political activists in Orange County.
Steed was chosen for his long
history of political activism in which he, “reinvigorated Orange County
Democratic clubs.” As chair of OCYD Tim Steed expanded the club
membership, started several high school Young Democrat clubs, and
helped provide volunteers for countless political campaigns.
Tim Steed was elected
President of the California Young Democrats earlier this year at the
California Democratic Party convention. As CYD President he has
started a Latino Caucus, an LGBT caucus, and has sought to expand the
organization’s membership throughout the state.
“This is a well deserved accolade going to someone who has
truly made a difference in Orange County,” said Jason Bensley, the current
chair of OCYD.
The Orange County Young
Democrats are an active part of local Democratic politics and strive to
encourage political activism and participation among young people ages
14 to 35.
